The main entrance/exit to the site is from the High Street (B3069) in Langton Matravers.
The address is Wilkswood Farm, High Street, Langton Matravers, Dorset BH19 3HD.
If you are approaching from Wareham/Corfe Castle, turn right on to the B3069 towards Kingston/Worth Matravers/Langton Matravers just as you leave Corfe village. Follow the road all the way past the Scott Arms and along the ‘top’ road into Langton Matravers. The festival entrance is on your left at the top of the hill leading down into Langton.
If you are coming via the Sandbanks Ferry via Swanage, drive through Swanage and take the A351 out of town towards Corfe Castle/Wareham. As you reach the edge of the main residential area, take the left fork on to the B3069 towards Langton Matravers/Worth Matravers. The festival entrance is about half a mile on your right.
The festival will be clearly signposted and stewarded throughout the weekend so if get near the vicinity you should be able to follow the route markers to find the main entrance.

The festival is expected to sell out again this year and so we currently have no plans for any day tickets.
All tickets are available on our TICKETS page.

Yes, the cost of the ticket includes parking as well as full admission to the Wilkswood Campsite and camping in the tent camping field for three nights.
There is an additional charge for campervans and caravans of £25 for the weekend. This is essentially to cover a contingency for tracking and towing in the event of wet weather. A van camping ticket must be purchased separately to guarantee a pitch.
Please note that the car park is separate from the main tent camping areas but it is in very close proximity, ie, within easy carrying distance!
-
Yes. We will have an allocated field for campervans, mobile homes and caravans.
We had had to tighten up the van camping field rules and regulations in 2018 following advice from our Health and Safety consultants and in view of incidents at other festivals. Only vehicles that have been specifically adapted to sleep and live in will be allowed. Unfortunately this does not mean works vans with a mattress in the back.
No tents allowed to the side of the van to prevent contiguous fires and only one small/pup tent allowed behind each van. Van awnings are allowed.
One car allowed with each caravan. This cannot be moved until the festival ends so if you think you will need to leave the site during the weekend, the car must be left in the car park.
A van camping ticket must be purchased separately to guarantee a pitch.
Also, please note that there will be no electricity or water hook ups provided. It’s also not possible to leave and re-enter the festival with a campervan, caravan or motorhome. Movements in the area are restricted until Sunday evening and Monday when people leave the site.
-
The extra charge for the camper vans is to cover for tow outs, repairing damaged farm land and chemical toilet waste provision. It creates a contingency fund for when the weather is bad and we have to employ ‘tracking’ and local farm vehicles to help clear the site. We’ve been thankfully blessed with the weather over the last three years but, without this contingency and should wet weather occur, the cost of laying tracking and towing out vehicles could seriously deplete the festivals’ finances for subsequent years.
-
The festival is on a working farm in the Purbeck Hills with unmade tracks and some arduous slopes so access is always going to be a challenge. There was a lot of constructive feedback from disabled festival goers from previous years regarding improvements that could be made and we are implementing many of the points raised for this and future festivals.
We have a separate camping area much closer to the main arena. We have also designated parking for Blue Badge holders situated adjacent to the camping areas. You will need to email info@wilkswoodrootsreggaefestival.co.uk to discuss this further and to book a pitch.
We will also have the Camp Gator, a golf buggy-style vehicle capable of carrying camping equipment for festival-goers requiring assistance. The Gator will also be available to able-bodied campers for a small hire charge.
There will be no electricity or water hook-ups on site at all so if this is important you may want to look at nearby Woodyhyde Campsite which has full facilities.
There will be locked accessible toilets in this campsite and in the main event area. Please contact a steward as you arrive for details.
We also provide a free carers ticket to each disabled ticket purchaser. Please email carers@wilkswoodreggae.co.uk to arrange this before buying your ticket.
-
We strive to be as inclusive as possible so we can supply tickets for carers free of charge. To apply for a carer’s ticket please fill in our Carers Ticket Application Form.
-
Yes, there are hot showers as well as washing facilities and toilets, all of which will be regularly cleaned and inspected throughout the festival. There is a small charge for use of the showers (£3 in 2018).
-
Yes. There are several water points on the campsite for campers and general use.
-
There are no electrical hookups or phone charging points on site. The use of portable phone chargers is encouraged if you wish to stay ‘connected’ for the weekend. However, we hope most of you will take the opportunity to go ‘off grid’ and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the festival. The festival programme will have details of the weekend’s schedule and acts and the lineup and times will also be signposted at various points in the main arena.
-
There are no cash machines on the festival site but we will have an onsite cashback facility. There will be card payment facilities in the main bar and the majority of food and merchandise stalls.
If you bring a quantity of cash with you please keep your it safe and secure and don’t keep all your cash and valuables in the same place.
-
Unfortunately neither open fires nor charcoal barbecues are allowed at the festival. Basically if it can create a spark, do not use it; the grass is tinder dry and it won’t take much to get it going. Gas-fired stoves/barbecues (raised up from ground level, either with a stand or on stable blocks) are permitted. The festival will have a communal fire-pit zone for those not ready to turn in straight after the live acts finish performing.
Chinese lanterns are also not permitted as they pose a threat to livestock as well as a risk of fire.
-
The festival venue, Wilkswood Farm, is a working cattle farm for most of the year. Because broken glass would be an obvious danger to grazing animals, glass bottles are not permitted in the main arena nor the camping areas. This is in line with the majority of UK music festivals. If you arrive at the camping area with glass bottles you will be requested to return it to your vehicle or decant it into suitable containers; failing this it will be confiscated at the entrance. Beer cans and plastic bottles are permitted but we request that you use either the waste bins provided or remove your litter to leave the site.
-
Unfortunately, because the festival site is part of a livestock farm, we cannot allow dogs anywhere on the festival site with the exception of registered guide dogs. However, there are several campsites in the area that allow dogs: check out Acton Field and Tom’s Field in Langton Matravers and Harmans Cross Campsite, all of which are close to the festival site.
-
Unfortunately we cannot accept any other generators onsite other than those necessary for the live music, the soundsystems and the caterers.

Artist Beware – Phishing scam
A number of festivals in the UK have been targeted by a phishing scam originating in the USA. The scam offers artists (usually based in the States) a performance slot at the festival, offering a performance fee and travel costs (in US dollars). It requests that the artist provide details of work visas and other personal details and then often requests a deposit to cover administration and travel fees. The scam uses spoof email addresses but appears to come from the festival organisers.
Please note that the Wilkswood Roots Reggae Festival will never contact artists in this way so please do not reply to the emails and instead report them as phishing emails.
Please use the contact email addresses above in all communication with the festival. Be reassured that the website has not been compromised in any way.
