Expect some heavyweight dancehall sounds when Bristol’s Unique Star Soundsystem bring some serious dub plate ammunition to the Wilkswood Reggae Festival this summer. Collectively Snoopy, Big D, Tata Lloyd, Busby, Buff, Boe, Blaggy, Bantan and Arthur have been part of the reggae scene in Bristol since 1978 and have been holding down the spot at the top of Campbell St (City Road) at Bristol’s St Paul’s Carnival since 1990.
Unique Star Sound formed way back in 1978 and are well known for bringing the heaviest bass sounds to the city. They have worked with Sugar Minott, Black Scorpio, Prince Jammies and Mikey General and have been been appearing at the city’s Dub to Dubstep nights at The Black Swan since 2014. Big D presents the live ‘Roots Show’ on Bristol’s Passion Radio every Wednesday, between 9 and 11pm
